Wargaming Seattle is located in the heart of the technology and games industry within Washington State. Our rich history extends to the studio's original founding as Gas Powered Games back in 1998.
The company was founded by an acclaimed game designer and industry visionary, Chris Taylor.
“If you give creative people the right tools and a great environment in which to use them, the results can be truly magical.”
Our first project, a fantasy RPG titled Dungeon Siege, was released in 2002, and its sequel, Dungeon Siege II was released in 2005. Both games were critical and commercial success, selling in excess of 1.7 million copies. Other games in the Dungeon Siege franchise include Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony for the PSP (developed cooperatively with SuperVillian Studios) Dungeon Siege II: Deluxe Edition, and two expansions.
Gas Powered Games leveraged initial success to a completely new genre in 2007 with Supreme Commander, a revolutionary sci-fi RTS game that has been hailed by critics for its epic-scaled, innovative gameplay Strategic Zoom, and streamlined Command & Control. Supreme Commander received numerous Editors' Choice awards and went on to critical and commercial success, which led to a highly praised expansion, and eventually its sequel, Supreme Commander 2 in 2010.
In 2013, Gas Powered Games joined Wargaming to become Wargaming Seattle.
Helmed by legendary game designer Chris Taylor, Wargaming Seattle is growing its team of highly skilled and seasoned professionals to create truly next-generation entertainment experiences in the massively multiplayer games space.
